Frederick D. Shows was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and raised by loving parents in Louisiana. After graduating high school, he attended and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Finance. After high school, Fred served honorably in the Louisiana Army National Guard with the former 5th mechanized infantry division.

Fred started his banking career in New Orleans with a local retail and commercial bank. After a short stint in banking, Fred went on to work with New York Life Insurance Company as a registered representative from 1998 to 2005. Fred holds his series 6, 7, 63 securities registrations though LPL Financial, and 65 with LPL Financial and Good Life Advisors, LLC.

Fred continued his career at Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors in Greenville, SC as both a District Manager and Advisor through 2016. As Fred’s practice grew, he realized the value of comprehensive financial planning and the needs of his clients were both common and unique to each individual.

Fred and his wife, Jennifer, have four children and are active members of the Commerce Club of Greenville and the community. They enjoy fitness, traveling, entertaining with friends, water sports and spending time boating on Lake Keowee.
